You Don’t Have to Wait to Feel Ready
Something I wish more women in technology were told earlier.

1. The Illusion of Waiting for Confidence
I've had moments in my career when I didn't feel ready. I suspect many women reading this will recognise that feeling.
A bigger role. A difficult conversation. A room where you are the only woman. A decision where you know you are being judged differently.
For a long time, I thought confidence came before opportunity. I've learned that often it works the other way around.
2. Growth Through Action
You take the opportunity. You learn. You make mistakes. You recover. You become better.
And eventually, you realise that the person who thought she wasn't ready was actually capable of much more than she believed.
I've also learned that leadership isn't about having the loudest voice in the room.
Some of the strongest leaders I've worked with were the people who asked the difficult question, listened carefully and gave others the confidence to contribute.
3. You Belong in This Room
This is one reason mentoring matters so much to me.
Sometimes people don't need another course or another piece of advice.
They simply need someone to say: “You belong in this room. Now use your voice.”
If I can do that for someone else, that is one of the most valuable things I can contribute.
